MIBOR Decides to do NOTHING

MIBOR, the Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors has decided to do NOTHING. My broker and I met with the president of MIBOR, Steve Sullivan and the Information Services Director, Tom Renkert a few weeks ago. We left optimistic they would do something. One of their considerations was to have an opt in/opt out option for brokers to allow indexing of their listings. They were going to meet with the BLC (that’s MLS for the rest of the nation ) Committee and offer a recommendation to the MIBOR Board of Directors at their June meeting.

Today, we received the notice, the Committee did meet and while some liked the idea, they decided to wait until November. They chose to do nothing.

On a positve note - other boards around the country are taking a stand for their agents. Jay Thompson reports his board, ARMLS -  Arizona Regional Multiple Listing Service, has publicly acknowledged they support their Realtors indexing.

I commend ARMLS for taking a stand for the Realtors who support them.

Let’s hear from other MLS and local boards who support the best interest of their Realtors.

Paula - Much as I commented to you before, everyone wants to see who will move first. MIBOR doesn’t want to jump first, NAR doesn’t want to jump first and you’re stuck in the middle.

    Shame on both of them.
