It is our mission to help educate the National Association of REALTORS as to how dangerous it is for them to restrict members websites from being indexed by search engines.
Yes, I know that it sounds funny that the internet savvy agents who understand the impact that decisions like MIBOR has made can have would have to educate their own trade association, but it is true.
And that is OK with us. Everyone is at their own level. We are truly trying to help. They are real estate professionals and NOT online marketing experts. That’s fine but we NEED them to have a better track record of getting things right.
We have watched over the years as NAR has made well intentioned mistake after well intentioned mistake. We want the decision makers at NAR to understand that THIS decision matters a great deal to their members financial future.
MIBOR apparently wants to delay this and get the language changed to support their own position. We think that is short sighted and self serving. Our goal is to teach the truth about how the internet, search engines, and other online marketing mechanisms TRULY work.
The sad truth is that the members of the board of NAR understand precious little about it. We want them to have the facts to make correct decisions and not simply be swayed by local boards with their own agendas.
HOW YOU CAN HELP:
1. READ THE ORIGINS OF THIS ISSUE! We want REALTORS to arm themselves with information and to participate locally on their boards.
2. BADGE UP! We need the NAR board to take us seriously and this needs to be a sustained effort. The more blogs they see with this badge, the better.
3. BLOG ABOUT IT! We need a sustained chorus of people willing to hold NAR accountable for understanding TODAY’S rules of engagement and NOT the rules of yesteryear. We cannot educate and help them if they do not respect our voice. If you would help us by linking to this site and to others who support our position, we’d be grateful.
4. SIGN THE PETITION! We have a petition here that a) COMMENDS the MLS committee for getting it right and b) CONDEMNS MIBOR for getting it wrong and c) URGES the BOARD to LISTEN to their committee. We need THOUSANDS of NAR member REALTORS to sign this!
